I like movies. That just brought up the "I like Turtles" kid in my head....oh he's weird. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMNry4PE93Y
Anyway...I've been watching movies my whole life and have come to love many of them. I'll usually give most movies a fair look and judge them accordingly. I was speaking with my brother Jeffrey the other day and we were discussing our Top 10 list! We agreed on a few that are classics but for the most part had different lists. It is a very difficult task narrowing down all the movies out there to a single compilation. Only a true movie lover could do so. That's what I am and that's who I care about. I offer you the following list with the intent that you might seriously consider watching them and making them a part of your life. After all, I only suggest the best of the best. I offer 11 because...that's just the kind of guy I am. Here we go...
Honorable Mentions...
The Count of Monte Cristo, Remember the Titans, The 'Burbs, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Ocean's 11, A Time to Kill, The Shawshank Redemption, Ferris Beuller's Day Off.
All classics and very worthy of top consideration. The one that you might be scratching your head over is The 'Burbs. This Tom Hanks classic has a special place in my heart and always will. It offers amazing comedy and will provide you with quotable lines for at least 55 years. If you haven't seen it...please, give it a try. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijZ7OHH0iL0

11. The Last Samurai
Many, many people will tell you that they love the movies Gladiator and Braveheart and would probably put them in their tops list. I agree, they are both great movies but when talking about warrior movies, nobody knows about The Last Samurai. It's an epic tale of the Samurai and what happened to them. Tom Cruise easily gives his best performance in this wonderful piece of film.
10. A Few Good Men
Another Tom Cruise classic. It's a great story of two marines on trial for murder and Tom Cruise is assigned to be their defense attorney. Cruise thinks he can just "mail it in" and cut a deal for his defendants but after he starts digging deeper he realizes that there is much more going on then what people think. With an incredible cast and a great director, A Few Good Men will definitely please.
9. The Family Man
I talk up and tout this film as great all the time. Led by Nicolas Cage and a great ensemble of supporting actors, this is the story of what could have been. Cage is a successful Wall Street business man leading the single life and is given a chance to see what his life would have been like if he would've stayed with his college girlfriend. It's just a great movie. It shows you that family truly is the best thing in the world and that everything else is just...not as important. I cry every time!
8. Sneakers
This movie is just all around fun to watch. It's got action, comedy, suspense, drama and a great story. A lot of people haven't seen or even heard of this movie. Robert Redford and his band of "sneakers" are hired to find a secret box that contains a code breaker that can break any code. But what they don't know is they're not the only one's after it. It's a fun time for everyone and if you truly like movies, you should give this one a watch.
7. The Fugitive
I think everyone out there has seen The Fugitive, probably because it's on Cable everyday. I can't put my finger down on exactly what it is but I never get tired of watching this movie. Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford give amazing performances and are constantly playing a cat and mouse game. Ford is framed and wrongfully excused of killing is wife. Jones is the U.S. Marshall after him and will not give up until he catches him. Great movie! I repeat, great!
6. Back to the Future
A classic and as innovative a film as it gets. Back to the Future was made when there wasn't CGI and out of this world special effects. With a truly great story and wonderful acting this movie was made into a classic for anyone. It had 2 sequels that are also very entertaining but they don't stack up to the original. It's one of those movies that makes you forget about your life for a couple hours and you are transported to the world of Marty McFly. Love this movie! Plus, it has Huey Lewis and the News' song- The Power of Love!
Pirates, Revenge, Sword Fighting, Princesses, Love, Miracles, Giants. One of the movies that really does have it all. Another movie that I'm sure everyone has seen but I want you to go back and re watch and only pay attention to the absolute classic dialogue that the characters have with each other. You will not be sorry. This is a movie you should own and share with your children. :)
4. So I Married an Axe Murderer
A cult classic and one of the first Mike Myers movies. It's the story of Charlie Mckenzie and his inability to stay in a relationship. He meets a wonderful and different girl named Harriet and immediately finds love. It is so funny and will have you laughing for the rest of your life. My favorite comedy of all time.

3. Hoop Dreams
In all my days, I have only met a handful of people that have seen this movie. It's a documentary that chronicles the lives of 2 high school students in the inner-city of Chicago. It follows them for 5 years and shows them trying to achieve their dreams of playing basketball. It's a marvel of film making and doesn't have scripts or special effects or any of the Hollywood style stuff. It's real and raw and shows how the human spirit can overcome anything. If you want a story of inspiration and seeing a world different from your own...watch Hoop Dreams. You won't be sorry.

2. Rudy
Talk about inspirational movies. Rudy Ruttiger was a young man that nobody ever believed in. They constantly told him that he couldn't do it or don't even try. He had dreams of playing football at The University of Notre Dame but was "too small" or "didn't have enough talent." Rudy eventually gave into the constant belittling and went about his life after high school. He worked in the family mine and wasn't really mounting to much. After a tragic accident, he decides he must give it a try and go to Notre Dame to fulfill his dream. This film has great acting and writing and the music is incredible. A wonderful film for anyone who is looking for some inspiration or wants to see an amazing story. The best thing about it....it's all true!

1. Forrest Gump
The best movie ever made. Forrest Gump is the most beautiful piece of film making I have ever seen. It's one of those movies that everyone has seen at least once but don't really appreciate it. Tom Hanks gives his best performance of his distinguished career and is surrounded by a great cast. The story is superb and the way it's laid out and directed is even better. It chronicles the life and times of Forrest Gump. A "slow" man that grew up in a small town of Greenbow, Alabama. He was constantly called "stupid" and "dumb" and told he wouldn't amount to anything. He proves everyone wrong in more ways than one! It's just classic and I promise if you watch it, you'll have a different outlook on life. How many movies can offer that?? :)
