Comings and Goings

I am a movie lover. This is no secret. When I come across a good one I feel inclined to share my thoughts with anybody and everybody.

Going to the movies has always been a really fun thing for me. Maybe it's the swarms of people hustling and bustling or the excitement that fills the air when you're about to witness something that you never have before. Or, maybe, it's just the happy thoughts I get when I think about getting drunk on movie popcorn...a love that my dad instilled in his boys long ago. (I laugh when I think about Jeff telling me his mouth gets "raw" whenever he goes to the movies!)

This past weekend, Manda Bear and I decided to go to the movies. We saw Duplicity. I didn't really know what to expect but had heard some mixed reviews. However, I'm never one to let some random movie critic decide if I should like a movie or not. I read one review that said..."Duplicity is a movie for people who enjoy solving Rubik's cubes." Is this supposed to mean it's a movie for smart people?
We saw it and I really enjoyed it. I would say it's a mix between Ocean's 11 and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I'm not going to go into a full-on synopsis of the film, you can and should watch the trailer that I have provided. But I will say this, the story was great. It's the kind of movie that forces you into watching it and to figure things out. It's not one of those (though I like these sometimes) movies where things just blow up and there is no mental effort needed to view it. Duplicity is a romantic-comedy-thriller that is definitely worth watching. It has a quality story that men and women will enjoy. Just when you think you know what's coming, you really don't and the mystery all comes together in the end. This one gets 2 enthusiastic thumbs up from your Sanchez Thoughts Committee.

We saw the trailer for, The Soloist, before Duplicity and it looks like a great film. I don't know what it is (maybe the music) but I get emotional just from watching it. Have a look for yourself.

I'm a big Jamie Foxx fan and it looks like he gave another award worthy performance in The Soloist. I love stories like this. People helping those in need. It comes out in April and I'm excited.

Babe, I am so excited to see the Soloist. The preview included my favorite cello song of all time! I love stories like this that cause us to take a closer look at the way we view our lives and help us remember the things that really matter, like making a difference in someone else's life. You are that difference for me. I love you.
PS - What do you think about living the life of Julia Roberts and Clive Owen in Duplicity? I like being spontaneous and it could keep things rather spicy and interesting... :)

We really want to see Duplicity-- I think Julia Roberts is my favorite Actress! Did you two see Marley and Me? We loved it and both bawled almost too much.

Hey love drop! I totally agree with what you said about the soloist...movies that uplift or show people doing good are always fun. I'd love to live like they duo in duplicity!! How much money do you think we would need to live that way? I was thinking 20 million... :)

p.s. I want to meet a heart doctor that has chocolate and teddy bears! ;)

Mmm! How would you like to meet a chocolate teddy bear who IS a heart doctor? I just might be able to hook you up with that one, if you know what I mean...

And I was thinking a little more than $20 million. How much do you think it would take to buy the Jazz? It's about time you straighten that team out :)

I think I was delirious when I saw Duplicity... needless to say, it didn't make a ton of sense to me. I'll probably have to see it again. The Soloist looks WAY good!! So excited to see it... hopefully it's not one of those where the preview's better than the actual movie... (Dear Frankie... have you seen it?)
